Scientists have identified a new species called the Northern Green Anaconda, which has now set a record as the longest anaconda ever documented. The massive snake measured nearly 26 feet (around 8 meters), surpassing all previously recorded anacondas.

The eight-second video was shared by Dr. Sheetal Yadav on X (formerly Twitter). In the footage, a dark-colored anaconda can be seen gliding through the water with ease. Due to limited information, the snake’s exact length, weight, and species have not yet been officially identified, but its size alone has left viewers stunned.

Earlier this year, a team of scientists made headlines after formally discovering the Northern Green Anaconda in another part of the Amazon. The expedition included Professor Freek Vonk, who also recorded video evidence of the giant snake. This breakthrough confirmed that even larger and previously unknown anacondas still exist.
The discovery highlights how much of the Amazon remains unexplored and reminds the world that the rainforest continues to hold extraordinary secrets, waiting to be uncovered by science.
